Got your book in the mail yesterday...11/11 wow... really worth the wait. About 1/2 way through already. Love it.

Tom, I received the book this week and have already gone through most of it as well as watched the DVD. I am new to hand tools and have found the book and DVD to be very informative and inspirational. I also enjoy your blog. Thank you for your hard work and inspiration. Regards, Chris.

If Krenov and Underhill had a child- it would have to be Tom Fidgen ! thank you, David

Tom, I collected your book today from my office….
It far surpassed my expectations in every way possible. The book is gorgeous from cover to back and every single page is a delight to look at and read. I started by flipping through all the pages, reading a few bits here and there falling in love with it as I flipped each page. I finally got to the afterthoughts and read all those pages, it felt like reading Krenov, you express a great love for the wood and the craft in a very romantic way. Thank you for writing and thank you for Popular Woodworking Books, Megan and The Schwarz for making this possible. Take care,
Luis

Tom, the book is not only educational but inspirational. All woodworkers, hand tools or not should read it! thank you Tom. Michael

The book came today and it exceeds the high expectations you set with your blog. I really like the way that the projects stand by themselves as written, but also inspire you to be creative and make them your own. Chris

...the book came on Saturday.... it is an excellent piece of work that matches the quality of your woodworking. -Eric

One word, Outstanding!! Rick

I received Made by Hand and I can't believe how good it is, Tom. Thanks so much. A big surprise was the DVD that walks a newbie handworker through tool requirements. The world has needed this and needed it badly. This was a very unexpected bonus. Everyone who wants to do hand work NEEDS this book and CD. Larry

Got the book yesterday. Watched the DVD and read the first chapter last night. Excellent work so far. Inspired me to head to the local used tool shop and pick up a brace this morning. Thanks. Matt

Hi Tom,

The book looks great!! I would like to order one but don't see a handy link to order. Would you mind giving us the skinny once again on the ordering process?

Sorry, I know that you have covered it already, but I didn't see the info right off the bat.

Thanks,

Randy J. Arnold

Welcome. My name is Tom Fidgen and I'm a craftsman living in Toronto, Ontario. I build custom furniture using 'only hand tools'. Please feel free to contact me regarding anything you see or read here. I’m always interested in discussing a custom design, furniture application or anything else wood working or hand tool related at any time. For custom work or private commissions , once we make some progress about a design, I’ll make a materials list and some rough drawings at which time a price can be determined. I quote jobs simply on material costs and time. Once a price is agreed on, a fifty-percent deposit is required to secure a place in my schedule, purchase materials and initiate the final design. Thank you
